Basically all we did to the living room was clean the carpet and paint the wall and the trim. We also put in a new front door that Allison's Dad found us and we must say that it looks a lot better than the old door. We still need a new screen door for it yet. Hung some blinds over the windows, brought the furniture in, arraged it and called it good.
The Kitchen.....
The kitchen was quite the fix-up job. We patched the huge hole ceiling and painted the walls; Ripped up the old linoleum floor and put down rubber backed carpet strips. Painted the outside of the cabinets (still not all the way done) and stuck down wallpaper on the shelves after cleaning them really well. Did a serious clean job to the counter tops with bleach and any other strong cleaner that we could find in the house to get them back to there original color. Allison's parents gave us a small gas stove to use and someone else gave us a refrigerator. The dishwasher we got from one of our neighbors that was throwing it away after remodeling their kitchen. It works just fine, but we have hooked it up yet, so we're still doing dishes the old fashioned way....in the sink. The kitchen door got new locks put on it that actually lock and the wooden cabinet that you see in the pictures was left here at the house. It got a major clean-up job with bleach and we now use it as a pantry for our canned goods, bread, cearel, snacks, etc.
The Porch....
We're still working on this one, but this is what it looks like now for the most part.

Welcome to the blogging world. Here is a link to our blog: www.mattrachraab.blogspot.com. The house is looking good. How's married life? I'm coming to KC in a few months. Maybe you can come up for Sunday dinner sometime so we can meet your hubby.
